WSV – What a first week!

Weymouth Social Volleyball experienced their most inspiring week yet. Almost 100 people attended the practice session at Weymouth Community Sports Centre on Wednesday 19th interested in playing volleyball. The organisers had planned to limit teams to 8 players per team within the league competition but, with this level of interest the teams can expand to 9 players per team. Fortunately, amongst the new people were a few that have played before and so they were all able to join a team similar to their ability. The organisers would like to thank everyone for coming and the team captains for accepting the new players so readily.
Within the top two divisions an impromptu mini tournament was played and the Division 3 team received valuable training in court positioning and tactics. It was very encouraging that many of the people new to volleyball were picking up the basic skills so well. All in all an outstanding first session of the season.
